Emergency Veterinary Care in Northwest Austin

Emergency Animal Hospital in Northwest AustinThe Emergency Animal Hospital of NW Austin would like to take this opportunity to welcome you, your family, and your special family member to our website. As you continue to browse and explore our website, it is our hope that you will learn more about our dedication to your family and the quality veterinary medicine and service we provide.

Our goal here at the Emergency Animal Hospital of NW Austin has always been to assemble a veterinary health care team committed to providing exceptional client service and emergency and critical veterinary health care. Our team displays an unrivaled commitment to our clients through continuing education, technological advances in veterinary medicine and service, and most importantly, administering compassionate care to all pets entrusted to us.

The north 183 hospital was established in 1985 by a group of eight area veterinarians that recognized the need for a separate, fully staffed hospital that specialized in quality overnight, weekend, and holiday emergency and critical care. Dr. Scott Johnson purchased the hospital from the group in 1990. In 1995, the south hospital was opened inside the Central Texas Veterinary Specialty Hospital. We work in conjunction with your regular veterinarian, communicating details of your animal's treatment and medical findings. We owe our success to the dedication and perseverance of our staff members that have contributed to our growth over the last 30 years. For the convenience of our clients and to help you in emergency and critical care situations, we are available 7 days a week, no appointment necessary.

North Hospital - In 2014 we expanded our services to include a Critical Care, extended stay center for pets requiring intensive care support. Your family veterinarian may refer your pet to our ICU ward if they feel 24-hour monitoring and care is needed. This unit is located in our North hospital and is open for referrals Monday - Friday from 7am to 4pm and we see emergencies 24-hours a day. Patients can now stay and receive exceptional 24-hour care from our board certified specialists without having to leave the hospital.

South Hospital - Our south location continues to provide after-hours emergency and critical care on nights, weekends and holidays.
